Ideas to Help Your Parlor!
As we noted in the budget report, Toluca Parlor
needs
the support of its members. There are many ways that each member
could contribute to the parlor. Some are listed below. We
also
encourage you to be creative and come up with other ideas to help the
parlor.
Not all of them require additional money, so please do your best to
support
our Order and our parlor!!! Other parlors are certainly welcome
to
add to the list or to use these ideas! The publicity generated by
some of these ideas can also help bring in money and involve
non-members so that we can tap into other resources rather than always
asking our members!
- donate a ream of colored paper for Cattails
- donate a book of stamps for Cattails
- contribute relevant news to Cattails
- attend the meetings and donate to the coin march
- save recycling money to donate to the parlor
- help get the Cattails mailings ready
- bring in new members
- attend fund raising events
- help us find ways to promote the Order
- involve non-members/prospective members in our
fund raisers
- sign up for our email list so we can save
postage money
- participate in Pennies for Pines
- make bibs for the veterans to increase our service
hours
- promote poppy seed planting
- volunteer to give reports on infirm members
- volunteer to give rides to non-mobile members
- pass Cattails and the Star on to a prospective
member
- keep a brochure in your purse for a prospective
member
- volunteer for parlor projects
- check into local events such as parades or fairs
- sponsor a booth at a church
carnival/fair/fiesta/etc.
- put brochures in information racks in public
places,
(ie) the library
- enclose a piece of information about the order
when
you mail bills
- ask your local newspaper to publish an article on
the order and your parlor
- publish a blurb about the order in the newsletters
of other groups you belong to
- put event information into your church bulletin or
newsletter
- do volunteer work as a group
- wear your NDGW items (ie) a shirt, pin, etc at all
types of events
- create a website for your parlor if you don't have
one
- volunteer to help maintain the parlor's website
if you have one
- use our logo as your icon for instant messaging and such
- donate books about CA to your local library, and be sure the
bookplate has our info
- donate a subscription to the Star for your local libraries
- pass on info about the Children's Foundation to social workers at
local hospitals
- save Albertson's and Chevron receipts so we can get Points for Profit
money
These are all ways we can "illuminate"
prospective new members about our order, and I'm
sure
you gals can think of more! Email
me if you would like to add something to the list!
